God Is Speaking -- Can You Hear?

What does it mean to truly hear God when He speaks? That question sits at the heart of a powerful exploration of obedience, purpose, and the cost of selective compliance. Drawing from the story of King Saul in 1 Samuel 15, we are confronted with a sobering reality: it is possible to do many good things, even godly things, and still miss the mark entirely. Saul was given a clear, direct assignment from God. He executed much of it, but held back in the places where obedience was inconvenient or where his own judgment seemed reasonable. The result was devastating. God withdrew His endorsement of Saul's kingship not because Saul did nothing, but because Saul did not do everything he was called to do. This introduces us to a vital biblical concept known as the sin of omission, the idea rooted in James 4:17 that knowing the right thing and failing to do it is itself a form of sin. For us, this raises a searching question: are we fulfilling the specific assignment God has placed on our lives, or are we substituting our own version of faithfulness for His? The message calls us to move beyond surface-level religion into a life of sincere, prayerful alignment with God's will, one that is personal, daily, and uncompromising.
