Don't MISS Yo' Miracle
Aug 9, 2026 • Pastor Pamela Woodfolk
What does it mean to pray for a miracle and then miss it when it arrives? Acts 12 gives us a striking and almost humorous picture of exactly that. The early church gathered and prayed fervently for Peter while he sat in prison, so at peace with God that an angel had to shake him awake. God moved on their behalf in a dramatic way, and yet when Peter knocked on the door, the very people who had been praying refused to believe it was him. This sermon draws us into that tension and asks us a pointed question: are we doing the same thing? We pray, we believe, we gather together in faith, and then when God answers, we explain it away, dismiss the messenger, or simply fail to open the door.
